Historical Notes

The St. Albans Raid took place on October 19, 1864 at St. Akbans Vermont. The raid by 21 Confederate solidiers mission was to force the Union Army to divert troops away from the Civil War battlefields to the northern areas of Vermont. The confederate soldiers robbed several banks and escaped back to canad.
