2008 Barack Obama Sterling Silver Presidential Campaign Logo Cufflinks. An unusual pair of sterling silver cufflinks featuring Barack Obama's instantly recognizable rising-sun "O" logo, created for his historic 2008 presidential campaign.

Each round cufflink features the Obama logo in relief against a textured background, with contrasting polished and recessed surfaces. The reverse is slightly concave or dish-shaped, apparently a result of the die-forming process used to provide rigidity to the relatively thin sterling silver face. The cufflinks are marked STER, indicating sterling silver, and retain their original swivel-bar fittings.

Cufflinks were among the merchandise produced and sold in connection with Obama's 2008 campaign and 2009 inauguration; however, we have been unable to document this particular sterling silver variety or determine its manufacturer. Accordingly, we are making no claim that this pair was officially issued by the Obama campaign, Presidential Inaugural Committee, or White House.

An attractive and decidedly less common form of Obama political memorabilia combining the iconic imagery of his groundbreaking presidential campaign with traditional men's jewelry.

Historical Notes

Barack Obama's distinctive rising-sun "O" became one of the most recognizable political logos in American campaign history. Introduced during his 2008 presidential campaign, the design symbolized hope and a new beginning. Cufflinks were among the political jewelry marketed during the campaign and surrounding Obama's historic January 20, 2009 inauguration.
