Original "flasher" button from the 1964 presidential campaign of Barry Goldwater. Produced by Vari-Vue Pictorial Productions. Images change from Barry Goldwater photo to the words "Goldwater in '64" when moved. This is a slightly different version than you typically see. The image with the text/words as a horizontal line above and the reverse has a sticker from the Automatic Amusement Co, Pittsburgh that is identified as a "Factory Distributor" and an imprint identifying the company as a Sales Rep. The reference to "Vari-Vue Pictorial Productions" is visible only at the top edge of the reverse of the button.

Historical Notes

Flasher buttons were produced by lenticular printing technology which creates the illusion of depth and changes image when viewed from different angles and with movement.
