Dewey Defeats Truman Newspaper Found in Storage Locker
The Chicago Tribune reported today that a copy of the infamous newspaper edition that incorrectly announced Thomas Dewey as the victor over Harry Truman in the 1948 election, was found in a storage locker in an episode of A&E's TV Storage Wars: Texas".
Lori Ferber Collectibles owner Steve Ferber was quoted in the article by Ellen Jean Hirst and Rob Manker.
In the story the Chicago Tribune revealed that they actually don't own a copy of the newspaper in their own archive. However, the reporter's own editor does, and he has proudly displays his copy of the historic newspaper error in his office for several years.
Where did he buy his copy of the newspaper? Coincidentally, he had purchased his copy From Lori Ferber Collectibles in 2008 after he was named editor of Chicago's leading daily newspaper.
