1916 Rare Progressive Party National Convention Steel Printing Plate & Ticket. Heavy steel plate with engraved identification number.  Imprint of Columbian Bank Note Company, Chicago. An actual printing plate that was used to print the entrance tickets to the Progressive National Convention in Chicago, 1916, with blanks for specific seating assignment. Printing plates were produced in reverse in order to print the image right side up. The convention nominated former President Theodore Roosevelt as the Progressive Party candidate for President in the election of 1916 before he withdrew from the nomination. Also included is the paper wrapper with the printed impresson of the ticket that no doubt served as a form of printing proof. The first time we have seen ever this and we probably never will again. Certainly a conversation piece. Original.

Historical Notes

Includes both the printing plate and the printed wrapper
