1924 Scarce Republican National Convention Rhode Island Badge. The convention nominated Calvin Coolidge for President. Hard to find badge since Rhode Island had such a small delegation, and seldom seen with the ribbon (albeit the ribbon has condition issues. Brass rectangular header with state of Rhode Island in white enamel and linked shield shpaed state seal in blue enamel and "Hope" inscribed at the bottom. Red, white and blue ribbon behind. The reverse is inscribed '18th Republican National Convention / Cleveland Ohio / June 10, 1924. Original
Calvin Coolidge became the U.S. President after the death of Warren Harding in August 1921 and served the rest of his presidency without a Vice President.
