The trip was organized so the First Lady could award from United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, during President Ronald Reagan's second term in office Twenty seven pages of detailed preparations including motorcade instructions, speaker schedule (down to the minute), seating diagrams, hotel room assignments on White House letterheads with Presidential Seal on the front cover. Historical document which was produced by the White House and distributed to a select group prior to the start of the trip.
