Few people remember that in 1979 George Bush, long before he became Ronald Reagan's running mate as vice President, campaigned for the Republican nomination for President AGAINST Ronald Reagan. This is a collection of eight different documents from Bush's 1979 campaign. The documents are on George Bush For President letterheads an apparently are from his campaign headquarters in Virginia and Houston Texas. The titles of the documents are: "Presidential Primaries: An Overview", "George Bush on the Issues", "Presidential Announcement Statement of Ambassador George Bush", "Ambassador George Bush", "National Steering Committee Membership as of October 1979", "The Bush Family", "Barbara Pierce Bush" and "Campaign Staff" (which did include James baker III as Campaign Chairman. An interesting look into the early Bush campaign positions.
