Original letter from A.G. Esch, U.S. Navy on the official Commandant Naval District Washington letterhead, The letter is dated June 22, 1973 during the Vietnam War. The letter is addressed to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (FM) who later became the U.S. Ambassador to Australia.
Naval District Washington is one of eleven current naval regions responsible to Commander, Navy Installations Command for the operation and management of Naval shore installations in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.
