Original Associated Press (AP) Wirephoto. December 8, 1960. Titled FAMILY PHOTO - "President-elect and Mrs. John F. Kenned pose today at the Georgetown University Hospital with their son, John Fitzgerald, jr. The photo was taken during a baptismal ceremony in the hospital chapel for the son who was born Nov. 25.
Included on the reverse is the actual newspaper photo and caption from the daily newspaper in which the photo appeared. Underneath the newspaper clipping is the Associated Press wirephoto stamp on back. Original. This is part of a large collection of wirephotos we purchased that were part of a newspaper archive.
Look carefully under the armpits of both JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy and you will how the photo editor used whiteout (white paint) to enhance the photo. Long before the days of Photoshop computer software, whiteout was the common way of enhancing photo images.
