Personal letter from First Lady Lady Bird Johnson to the honorable Ed Edmondson of the U.S. House of Representatives. Signed "Lady Bird" as opposed to Lady Bird Johnson showing the close friendship. Sent from the LBJ Ranch in Stonewall, Texas on the Johnson's personal letterhead. Also includes the original envelope with the printed return address of the LBJ Ranch and showing the letter was mailed to Ed Edmondson. Edmondson served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Oklahoma 1953 to 1973. In 1972, he was a candidate for the U.S. Senate on three occassions. "Dear Ed: Thank you for asking me to make a television tape with you while I am in Washington for the Park Service meetings. Alas, every moment has been programed,even my lunch hours! This is a frantic time of year and I fear I might even have to cut my trip short to fly back to Texas - - there is a University of Texas Board of Regents meetings and so many last minute details before the library will be ready for dedication. With warm wishes, sincerely, Lady Bird."
