The Ultimate Ronald Reagan Collectible - Huge 6 1/2 Ft Tall Bedtime For Bonzo Movie Poster. If you are searching for a statement piece for your Ronald Reagan or political collectino, this is it. The largest we have ever seen, measuring six and a half feet tall, this is what is called a 3-sheet movie poster. It is from the classic Ronald Reagan movie "Bedtime for Bonzo". While we have often seen posters from this vintage Reagan movie, this is the first and only one that we have ever seen that is this large, colorful and dramatic. Ronald Reagan took a lot of ribbing over the years, and was the butt of many a chimpanzee joke, but he took it in stride.
In 1979 Clint Eastwood starred in the movie "Every Which Way But Loose" in which Eastwood had a companion chimpanzee. When in real life Eastwood ran for mayor of Carmel, California, President Reagan jokingly asked "What makes him think a middle-aged actor who's played with a chimp, could have a future in politics?"
At the bottom left of the poster it says Copyright 1951 by Universal Pictures Co. Inc. Produced for distribution in the United States. Linen backed to protect it from damage. We doubt that many - if any - of other of these 3-sheet posters have survived and especially in this bright clean condition. Would look superb if framed.
The 1951 american comedy movie was directed by Fred de Cordova and starred Ronald Reagan and Diana Lynn, and of course "Peggy" as Bonzo.
