1888 Grover Cleveland and Allen Thurman (President & Vice President) Original campaign bandana, 23.5" x 21.5" red cotton bandanna with black printed bust portraits of Grover Cleveland of Ohio for President and his democratic running mate, Allen Thurman of Ohio. Includes a large eagle, crossed cannon, and flag at top, center. Dotted block design around the border with crossed flags in opposite corners with the slogans: Tariff Reform / For Revenue Only," and "No Surplus / Low Taxes." The Union For Ever - Public Office A Public Trust". Original.
This design was based on a print of Grover Cleveland at the New York Historical Society, and on a photogravure of A.G. Thurman by Baker, Columbus, OH, engraved by H.B. Hall's sons, NY.
