1924 Democratic National Convention Alternate Delegate Badge. The convention nominated John W. Davis of West Virginia as President and Charles W. Bryan of Nebraska for Vice President. At the top of the badge it depicts the skyline of New York City, where the convention was held with the designation ALTERNATE, which suspends a red, white and blue patriotic ribbon with a second medallion with a spread winged eagle and a view of the nation's capitol. Original.
This is the convention that you hear about that took a record 103 ballots to nominate John W. Davis as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.
