1952 First Lady Bess Truman Invitation Addressed to Wife of Joseph Duke, Senate Sergeant At Arms. Interesting invitation card from "Mrs Truman" to Mrs Duke, the wife of Senate Sergeant At Arms Joe Duke, for October 15, 1952 just a few weeks before the election. The invitation card has the gold embossed seal at the top and the envelope shows the return address as "The White House" at the top left corner. The envelope is postmarked October 8, 1952 and addressed to Mrs. Duke at their location and Washington, D.C. which was then forwarded to their location in Phoenix, Arizona which was the Duke's hometown. Original. 

Historical Notes

Joe Duke served as the Senate's Sergeant At Arms from 1949-1953 and then again from 1955-1965.
