1999 Bush White House Luncheon Menu from Visit of French President Jacques Chirac. The event took place on February 10. 1999 between U.S. President George W. Bush and French President Jacques Chirac. Original menu with the Seal of the President gold embossed at the top and the customary White House gold edging around the edges of the menu.
On February 10, 1999, French President Jacques Chirac visited the White House for talks with President Bill Clinton, not George W. Bush, who did not take office until 2001. The meeting emphasized U.S.–French cooperation on global security, NATO’s evolving role, and economic issues, while addressing shared concerns over Kosovo and international peacekeeping efforts.
