1954 Dwight Eisenhower Framed Gift Print of George Washington Given to White House Staff at Christmas. President Eisenhower was passionate painter who found solace in painting, using it as a passionate outlet to unwind and express his creativity beyond politics. At Christmas time each year he presidented gift prints of his paintings with pre-printed-facsimile signatures to White House staff as Christmas gifts. In 1954 the annual gift print was based his painting of Geroge Washington based on a famous painting by Gilbert Stuart. The prints were then presented as gifts to members of the White House Staff and noted dignitaries. When originally framed the Presidential Seal,  which was attached to the outer folder that housed the gift prints, was added to the bottom of the display. Framed in a mahogany color wood frame with gold trim. A very nice gift item or display in your own collection, that is ready for hanging. Original.

Gilbert Stuart was a Rhode Island Colony painter who is often considered one of Americ's foremost portrailists.
