1887 Grover Cleveland "The President's Thanksgiving Proclamation" & Haymarket Riot article. Large 24" tall newspaper advertisement from a clothier by the name of Church The Clothier from Putnam, Connecticut. At the top is an engraving of President Grover Cleveland and his proclamation for Thanksgiving as a national holiday and the gold headline "The President's Thanksgiving Proclamation. "

The advertisement is essentially inviting locals to enjoy  the company's clothing, hats, caps and gent's furnishing goods". At the bottom it states: "Pre-eminent We Stand Leaders, Dictators and Bargain-Givers. Country men, country women and country children are cordialy invited to visit our store. A cordial "Home Welcome awaits all". 

On the back page are articles about the Haymarket Riot and the four men hanged at Chicago for the deaths of police offers and civilians
