1960 "I Told You So" Richard Nixon Campaign (Inauguration) Button Unused Paper. This was one of the country's closest presidential election campaigns. A.A.A. Novelty Co. went ahead and produced two versions of the classic "I told you so" buttons and hedged their bet - one for Kennedy and one Nixon. The buttons were to be distributed and sold between election and inauguration day. This is the printed paper that remained unused (and never became a button). While they are not nearly as scarce as the completed button which often sells in the $300 plus range, these unfinished paper versions remain very colletible. Original.
Historical Notes
Celluloid was the first plastic on the market, and it was used to make everything under the sun. Toys, brushes, jewelry, and of course, buttons. It'is a light material, so you can see right through most pure celluloid objects if you hold them to the light.
