Press badge from U.S. President Jimmy Carter's tense visit to Jerusalem March 1979 to finalize the Peace Treaty between Israel and Egypt. The trip took place soon after the overthrow of the Shah of Iran. It has been reported that Carter became frustrated with Israel's Prime Minister Menachem Begin during the visit. Original press badge issued to an award winning print and broadcast journalist that was covering the event.
Carter reportedly thought he would be ablto get the peace treaty signed during his March, 1979, but after arriving in Israel realized there was still a lot more work to be done.
