1964 Lady Bird Johnson Whistle Stop Tour Photo from Campaign Tour Train. Photo of  Lady Bird Johnson and her southern train the Lady Bird Special. October 1964. The Whistle Stop tour began just months after the 1964 Civil Rights Act was signed, amidst rising racial tensions in the South and against the advice of trusted advisors, The train was nicknames the "Lady Board Special" and continued for four days through eight states. Great photo of the First Lady about the train with microphones at the top and the group of helpers/supporters gathered around her. With the facimile signature of Lady Bird Johnson at the bottom right. Would look great framedOriginal.

Historical Notes

The train began its journey in Washington D.C> and traveled over 1,600 miles.
