1908 William Jennings Bryan Lincoln Bryan Club Convention Delegation Badge. Worn by members of the Lincoln Nebraska convention delegation which took place in Denver Colorado in 1908. We are honored to be offering this rare oversized 9" tall badge. Scalloped silver header with test reading Lincoln, Nebraska at the top. A short red, white and blue ribbon suspends a beatifuly illustrated celluloid with bold photograph of Bryan in the center and the text "From Lincoln to Washington 1908 William Jennings Bryan for President" surrounding, and images of Lincoln on the left and Geoge Washington on the right. Multi-colored on a gray background. A blue ribbon with silver type reads "Lincoln Bryan Club / Denver / 1908.  Gold colored tassels beneath and gold beading on the edges of the ribbon. Original. 

Originally acquired at the Chick Harris Slater auction over twenty years ago and this is the first time since then that it has come to market. Truly one of the key pieces to any Bryan, Democratic Convention or convention badge collection.

Historical Notes

The 1908 Democratic National Convention was held July 7 to 10th, in the Denver Auditorium in Denver, Colorado. The was the first convention that any major political party held in any Western state and Denver did not hold another convention until 100 years later when it hosted the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
