Historical Notes

William McKinley's second presidential inauguration took place on March 4, 1901. Held on the East Portico of the U.S. Capitol, the ceremony marked the beginning of his second term. The event was attended by a large crowd, and McKinley delivered a speech emphasizing national unity and prosperity. Tragically, McKinley's presidency was cut short when he was assassinated later that year, making this inauguration a poignant moment in American history.
