This is a set of two 1972 White House Christmas Cards. It includes the limited edition gift print distribued by Richard Nixon and Pat Nixon to White House staff members for Christmas 1972 as well as the smaller Christmas card version. It is a very nice gift print of the portrait of President Theodore Roosevelt by John Singer Sargent. "Theodore Roosevelt posed on a White House stairway for this 1903 portrait by John Singer Sergent. The painting now hands in the Red Room and is one of the feinest Presidential portraits in the White House Collection. . Hallmark produced the prints and placed each gift print in a red velour folder with a presidential seal embossed on the front. Each reproduction was imprinted with the greeting, “With our best wishes, the President and Mrs. Nixon at Christmas 1971.” and includes the original tissue paper cover and nice gold style plaque under the portrait. Also included is the original outer envelope with gold presidential seal and ribbon, but the envelope is tattered. The second card, is the smaller typical 1973 White House Christmas Card. The decard depicts the "Romantic view of the south grounds of The White House and Tiber Creek, it was drawn in 1839 by W.H. Bartlett, artist and engraver.
