1969 Nixon Agnew Inaugural Committee Vice Chairman Ribbon Badge. 47th Inaugural. With eagle attachment at the top with the title "INAUGURAL COMMITTEE" from which a short blue ribbon is attached with the words Vice chairman which also hold the official inaugural medallion. A large red, white and blue ribbon hanging from top to bottom and reads: 1789-1973 4th Inaugural Richard M. Nixon, Spiro T. Agnew, January 20th 1969 followed by a union label. Original.
Organizers, concerned about bird droppings during the parade, sprayed a chemical bird repellent along the route. Unfortunately, pigeons consumed the chemical, resulting in many dead birds falling from the sky, a primary overhead hazard to spectators.
