1968 George Wallace for President Oregon Campaign Bumper Sticker. Not often seen bumper sticker produced by the Oregon Campaign Wallace for President committee. Day glow orange on dark blue back ground. Original.
George Wallace’s 1968 presidential campaign was run as the candidate of the American Independent Party. Promoting segregationist views and “law and order,” he appealed to white working-class voters disaffected with both parties. Wallace carried five Southern states, winning 46 electoral votes. Though unsuccessful nationally, his campaign foreshadowed later populist and conservative realignments in U.S. politics.
