1983 Bellmar Junior High School John F Kenned Our Beloved President Memorial Button. Memorial button produced for the anniversary of JFK's assassination by Bellmar Jr. High School in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. Memorial button in an unusual size. This measure 2.25" in diameter but a 6" version is listed in the exceptional "Campaign Items of John F. Kennedy" book by Harvey Goldberg and one of the 6" versions sold for $79.96 in January 2024. We were not aware of a 2 1/8" version until we acquired this one.

Historical Notes

The assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, shocked the world and led to an outpouring of grief. In the wake of his death, a wide range of memorial items were produced, including coins, stamps, books, and magazines. These items served not only as keepsakes but also as symbols of the nation's collective mourning and an effort to commemorate the legacy of the 35th President of the United States
