Scarce Harding 1923 Reception Ribbon – July 4th Final Tour Appearance. Original “Reception” ribbon issued for President Warren G. Harding’s July 4, 1923 visit to Portland, Oregon—part of his final national tour just weeks before his unexpected death. Featuring rich red, white, and blue silk with gold lettering and a patriotic U.S. shield, this historic ribbon was worn by dignitaries welcoming the President. A rare and evocative political collectible from Harding’s last Independence Day as Commander in Chief, ideal for serious collectors of presidential or early 20th-century campaign memorabilia. Very fine condition. Original, of course.

Historical Notes

On July 4, 1923, President Harding was in Portland, Oregon, as part of his tour. He gave a major Independence Day address there at Multnomah Field (now Providence Park). This was one of the largest and most publicized stops of his trip.
