This is the one you're read about. An autographed copy of The Democratic Book 1936 signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This massive leather bound book caused a huge controversy when issued. It was the first time a President while in office in the White House help raise campaign funds for a political party - the democrats.

Hand signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt under a beautiful color illustration of the White House. Our understanding is that just 2,500 of this historic reference book were produced.  Over 375 pages with speeches and information about the Democratic National Convention. The book was offered to donors at the unheard of price at the time of $250. The book weigh nearly 8 pounds. Each signed book was numbered, as this one is. The front of the book is inscribed in gold leaf at the bottom,

Very large and heavy, oversized book bound in brown leather with gilt lettering of title on front. We have seen these books offered for over $4,000. Like many of these classic books, this particularly book shows edge wear and loss of some of the leather on the edges of the cover. Dont' misunderstand, it still present well, and the signature of Roosevelt - is in very fine condition - the best condition of this book with signature that we have seen in 50+ years.  Original, of course. Please see condition description below.

Comes with our 100% guarantee of authenticity. Excellent gift idea.
