Spanish American War "Remember the Maine" Textile. Patriotic textile featuring the USS Maine Battleship in the center and images of President McKinley, Rear Admiral Dewey, Major General Miles and Rear Admiral Sampson at the corners. At the bottom is a graphic of United States and Cuban flags, cannonballs and cannons with the text "Old Glory". Unusual version with brown and light red/orange and blue colors vs the typical strong black and red coloring. Cotton with stitching along the top and bottom edges. Would look exquisite framed. Original.

Historical Notes

The Spanish-American War was a conflict between the United States and Spain in 1898. It began with the explosion of the USS Maine in Havana, Cuba, and resulted in the United States gaining control of Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines,
