Camp David Presidential Retreat JFK Military Staff Christmas Dinner November 1962 Menu. This second Thanksgiving Christmas during John F Kennedy's presidency was an event was held at Camp David for Military Staff who were treated to a special menu as a thank you for giving up their Thanksgiving holiday to protect camp David. The event was led by Lieutenant Commander Matthew J. Breen, USN Officer in Charge.  4 pages. Just a month before the nation and its military were embroiled in the 13-day confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. Original and rarely seen item. 

Historical Notes

While the Kennedy family did not stay at Camp David on Thanksgiving Day, the military staff traditionally held their own Thanksgiving Dinner complete with such special listed menu items as "Golden Brown Roast Tom Turkey, Smoked Virginia Ham,, and Spicy Pumpkin Chiffon Pie and much more".
