Townsend is often credited with pushing Franklin Roosevelt to support the United States Social Security initiative. Copyright dates are 1934, 1935 and 1949. Original. 

Historical Notes

Dr. Townsend's propsal called for every person over the age of 60 to be paid $200 per month.
