1952 Truman White House Invitation & Entrance Card Woman's National Democratic Club. Includes the Invitation from First Lady Bess Truman with gold embossed seal at the top, the White House entrance card, typewritten card identifying the event as "Tea at The White House for members of The Woman's National Democratic Club and held at The White House on October 15, 1952., and the outer envelope with the gold The White House return address inscription. Original
James and Mary Lanigan were active democratic leaders that held numerous White House positions as well as active campaigner for various local New York positions. The New York Post identified James Lanigan as "a new form of Democratic leadership in New York, drawn from the Kennedy generation and capable of imparting to the political arena some of the intelligence and spirit now discernible in the U.S. Government.
