On December 5, 1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson hosted a state dinner at the White House in honor of Iranian Prime Minister Amir Abbas Hoveyda and Mrs. Hoveyda during his official U.S. visit. The evening included formal toasts celebrating the longstanding friendship and close ties between the United States and Iran, highlighting mutual respect, economic progress, and shared goals for peace and development.
