Jean-Paul Loup & William Nelson Limited Edition Bicentennial Hand Enamel Painting. Stunning Enamel Painting Executed by Hand at the Jean-Paul Loup / Betourne Studios of Limoges, France in a Limited and Numbered Edition of 100. This superb painting is number 38. Number one of the edition was donated to the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, and has been part of many of the Museum's exhibitions.
The descriptive brochures included with the enamel painting titled simply "United States of American - 1776-1976 as "to again demonstrate the warm friendship that has existed between the France of the young Marquis de Lafayette and our country for 200 years, it is most fitting that the definitive American Bi-centennial Commemorative be created by the Loup/Betourne Studios of Limoges, France and William Nelson, one of the most gifted young realist artists in the United States.
A total of ninety-nine of these exquisite enamel paintings were numbered and offered to collectors with this being #38. The first numbered painting was appropriately enough presented to President Gerald Ford for the permanent collection of the White House.
"Each painting in the edition is truly an original work of art - entirely handcrafted from the initial shaping of the copper base to the final, critical framing of the completed piece."
Included you will find the the original "Bill of Appraisement", the certificate of authenticity signed by Jean-Paul Loup, Jean Betourne an William Nelson and It will be shipped in the original shipping materials.
The two Gerald R. Ford museums in Michigan are distinct locations that highlight different aspects of Ford’s life and legacy.
Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids: This museum is dedicated primarily to Ford’s presidency and political career. It’s part of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum system, which is operated by the National Archives. The exhibits here focus on Ford’s time in the White House, his policies, the issues he faced as president, and key events like the Watergate scandal and the end of the Vietnam War. The museum in Grand Rapids is also Ford’s burial site, and his wife, Betty Ford, is interred there beside him.
Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library in Ann Arbor: Located on the University of Michigan’s campus in Ann Arbor, this library houses Ford’s presidential documents, papers, and archives rather than traditional museum exhibits. It is the official presidential library, where scholars and researchers can access materials related to Ford's life and presidency. The library also hosts educational programs and events related to presidential history and political science.
