Civil War Patriotic Cover –Winfield Scott - "The Rebels Will Not Go Free". General Winfield Scott pictured in an oval on the left side surrounding flags, drum, cannon, and cannon balls. Beautiful red, white, and blue colors and printing that says "The Rebels will not go FREE" Unused and original.
From a large collection of patriotic Civil War covers in very fine condition that we recently acquired.
During the Civil War, Northern publishers produced a wide range of illustrated envelopes to promote the Union cause and criticize Confederate leadership.
