Special Souvenir Book of 1901 inauguration of William McKinley and Teddy Roosevelt, as President and Vice President of the United States.  Published in 1901 by The Inaugural Committee. Includes a brief description of the ceremonies of the past one hundred years. Includes exceptional portraits of each President up until that date,  which are reproductions of steel plate engravings from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. 92 Pages. Copyright 1901 by the Inaugural Committee. We particularly appreciate the engraving of McKinley and Roosevelt which is seen on an opening page. Interestingly, there were two versions of this inaugural collectible that were produced. Both have the identical pages, with the exception that the one has a hardbound front and back cover (for which the binding is almost always falling apart) and this one which is called the softbound edition without the hardbound cover. Original.

Historical Notes

From the edition:

"As the present Inaugural celebrates the beginning of a second century of Presidential terms of office, it was thought appropriate to have the Souvenir, at this time, contain a brief description of the ceremonies of the past one hundred years. These have been edited from material to be found in the Library of Congress. The portraits are reproductions of steel plate engravings from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing."
