Scarce Piece of Restoration Wood From Abraham Lincoln's Law Office. In 1968 restorers removed pieces of Oak Lathing from President Abraham Lincoln's Law Office inside the famous Tinsley Building at Sixth and Adams Street in Springfield, Illinois. Genuine Lincoln-owned hand-hewn White Oak Lathing fragments from Lincoln's law office. the piece is mounted on a Certificate of Authenticity from the Great American Presidential Artifacts Company, who acquired the wood artifacts and produced this two-sided high quality certificate of authenticity. On the revese is addtional information regarding the reconstruction projectan he removing of the wood from the LIncoln law offices.  The certificate states that this is a limited-edition prototype, and numbered. (The actual prototype number will vary). An interesting glimpse into the early history of our nation's 16th President and a great gift item.  

Historical Notes
Abraham Lincoln's association with Springfield, Illinois, is profound. He moved there in 1837, began his law career, and lived for 24 years before becoming president. Springfield was where Lincoln raised his family, practiced law, and delivered his famous "House Divided" speech in 1858. His home and the Lincoln Tomb are located there, making the city central to his legacy.
