1890s Admiral George Dewey Spanish American War Parade Badge. With eagle pin bar at top. Hard to find, especially with this particular inscription on the reverse. Brass or tin in appearance. High relief embossed portrait of Dewey  "Rear Admiral George Dewey, U.S.N. In command of the Squadron in which destroyed the Spanish Fleet, May 1, 1898" around the circumferance.

In the center i reads: American Citizens! Wear this Badge in Honor of Admiral George Dewey The Hero of Manila. Let the glory of his Victory be an inspiration to the american People.   with an adverisement from Samuel Ward Company, Boston and New York. Original. 

Historical Notes

At the bottom of the badge on the front is inscribed:  "Manufactured by Jas. Murdock, Jr. - 116 Longworth Street - Cincinnati, O"
