1846 Very attractive display featuring eighteen strands of the actual hair of President Andrew Jackson, described as slighly graying, chestnut brown. Includes a copy of the orginal note stating "Sacred relic, Hair of Gen Jackson; rec-1846". Original, with certification. 

Comes with Certification signed by noted authenticator Charles Hamilton "I certify that I have examined the original authentication, of which an exact photocopy appears above, and find that it is a genuine document of the period, recording that this is the hair of Andrew Jackson, no doubt cut from his head, as was the custom of the time right after his death in 1845". 

Framed and double matted with color print of Andrew Jackson and a commemorative plaque, framed with conservation glass.
