1860s General McClellan and His Staff Patriotic Civil War Cover. Features images of General McClellan & Majors Clarke and Van Vliet. Very fine, unused Civil War historical envelope. Ornate background with the names of each individual below. Light green and black. Reverse shows credit line of 1861 by S.C. Upham, Philadelphia. Seldom scene. Bischel 548 Walcott 285 var Original.

Civil War Covers. Printed or embossed with caricatures, allegories, slogans, portraits, etc. relating to Civil War events and personalities. Referred to as "covers" or "envelopes" and are seen in unused or postally used postmarked varieties.
