Huge collection of fity-six (56) different George McGovern for President campaign buttons. McGovern was sometimes criticized for not having a cohesive presidential campaign with a common theme and colors and that may have contributed to his losing attempt at the presidency. This collection certainly supports that criticism, with many different colors and themes. Each button is original from his 1972 campaign. Rarely do you see so many different McGovern buttons in one place. Includes many harder to find buttons, including Eagleton buttons prior to him being dropped from the campaign ticket. All original.

Historical Notes
McGovern's chances certainly took another beating with his selection of Tom Eagleton as his Vice Presidential running mate only to be replaced by Sargeant Shriver. Both Eagleton and Shriver buttons are included in this collection
