Historical Notes

The Blackinton Badge Company has a long and storied history dating back to 1852. The company was founded in Attleboro, Massachusetts by Charles Blackinton, who started out making a variety of silver goods such as spoons, jewelry, and watch chains.

In the late 1800s, the company shifted its focus to making police and fire badges, which eventually became its primary business. By the early 1900s, Blackinton had become a leading manufacturer of badges for law enforcement and other public safety agencies.
