Prescription Eyeglasses Owned & Worn By President Eisenhower. The prescription eye glases were worn by President Eisenhower. They were given to John Moaney who was the president's valet from 1942-1969, and then sold by his wife in 1985 and later acquired by The Dan Hansen Collection. This is the original Amor gold metal frame eyeglasses. Original, and comes with a signed note from Mrs. Moaney that provides authentication and background on the glasses. Also includes a bronze plaque that was used as part of a display whenever the collection was exhibited. 

Historical Notes

In August 1942, when Dwight Eisenhower was in England to plan the invasion of  North Africa, Moaney transferred to Eisenhower's personal staff. For the next 27 years Moaney served as Eisenhower's valet.  Moaney was one of the honorary pallbearers at Eisenhower's funeral services in Washington D.C. and Abilene, Kansas.
