1946 New York Governor Thomas Dewey Signed Military Appointment Document. An appointment for Herny Gavit as Captain of the Infantry in the New York National Guard. With the Gold seal of the State of New York in the lower left and signed by Brigadier General Amos T. Brown Brown, the Adjutant General and New York Governor Thomas Dewey.
Thomas Dewey was the Republican Party's nominee for President in both the 1944 and 1948 elections. He also served as the 47th Governor of New York from January 1, 1943 to December 31, 1954.
