1904 Republican National Convention Wm R Leeds Association Badge. Header at the top reads "PHILADELPHIA" which suspends a medallion with a raised bust of William H. Leeds and the surrounding text reading "Wm H Leeds Association". The reverse of the medallion reads in the center, Chicago 15tth National Republican Convention June 21st 1904. Surrounding the entire medallion is the name and dates of Republican presidents and candidates. Interesting piece of Philadelphia and Republican political history. The convention nominated Theodore Roosevelt for President. Original.

Historical Notes

From what we have been able to determine, Wm R Leeds was a Sheriff and politician active in the early 1900s. He is mentioned several times in a thesis document called "The Evolution of an Urban Political Machine: Republican Philadelphia, 1867-1933, by Peter McCaffery.
