The Congressional Club in the U.S., established in 1908, is a non-political organization for spouses of members of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the President's Cabinet. It was founded by Mrs. John Sharp Williams in response to the isolation felt by congressional spouses in Washington, D.C. The club originally served as a social and support network for these women, offering them a place to connect and engage in community service.
