On this date in history, Senators heard arguments about seekign depositions from three witnesses; Monica Lewinsky, Vernon Jordan and Sidney Blumenthal and then deliberated behind closed doors. The reverse of the ticket lists the rules for the session. Stamped date on side of ticket

Obtained from the Office of James W. Ziglar, The Sergeant At Arms of the U.S. Senate. Excellent provenance. We have included here a photograph of the envelope which contained this and other tickets to the hearings and marked "Loretta (Souvenirs) 1/27/99. Since there were several tickets enclosed we are including a photocopy of the original envelope only. 

Historical Notes
In 1999, for only the second time in United States history, the Senate conducted an impeachment trial of a President. The acquittal of William Jefferson Clinton on February 12 came as no great surprise
