1961 Rare John F Kennedy Medallic Art Company Promotional Plaster Set. Set of two (one obverse and one reverse). Given to MACO's national distributor, Coin & Currency Institute of New York City, to be displayed for promotional purposes. From the original designs for the official Inaugural Medal produced by MACO for the Inauguration. Made of thick gold painted plaster, they measure a large 9.5" diameter and include hooks on the reverse for hanging. It is believed that only 20 of these sets were produced, and its unknown how many of these sets may have survived to this dat - if any. A truly remarkable addition to a John F. Kennedy collection and ready for display. Original.
The Medallic Art Company is considered America's oldest and largest private mint" and has produced awards such as the Pulitzer Prize.
